I love the Fall and I am eagerly looking forward to the morning crispness - - it is not quite there yet, but I know it's coming!
I took the kids to see the dead blue whale that washed ashore last Friday. Big thanks to Lori for giving me the "heads up" on that info, I would've never known about it until it was too late. It was a fascinating thing to see, such a majestic creature, and so sad that it was dead. It was quite stinky, too, and my van smelled like dead whale all weekend because the girls walked all around it and they must've tracked dead whale sand into the van.
Planning our Thanksgiving adventure into the peaceful desert. A perfect opportunity for family and friends to share solitude, together. Wanna come? Jess is talking about frying up consecutive turkeys LOL! We eat very well while we're "roughing it"!
I highly recommend the play "Honour" currently playing at Santa Paula Theater Center. Warning: Mature themes and strong language. I saw it over a week ago and I still run through bits of dialogue in my mind. It is about a marriage of 30+ years, sunk by a younger woman, and consists of the conversations/interactions between the husband/wife, wife/daughter, daughter/husband, husband/lover, wife/lover, daughter/lover...it is at times quite profound. For me, the most compelling scenes are the ones between the mother/daughter, and the daughter/father. These are some very powerful, beautifully written dialogues that literally made me go "whoa!" as I was watching. So if you want to see it, let me know because I want to see it a few more times before it goes away forever.
Have a happy week!
