We celebrated the President's Day holiday with a delightful family hike! I selected Charmlee Park near Malibu, where we passed meadows, wandered over foothills with spectacular views of PCH and the Pacific Ocean, and passed through some oak woodlands. The weather was perfect, and there were plenty of big rocks to climb upon, and trees...lots of places to just stop and stand in awe. It was great fun, I can't wait for the next one! I would definitely do this hike again, there was enough incline to make it a workout, but not unbearable!
We saw a coyote who didn't mind us watching him hunt gophers, a turkey vulture, hawks, lizards, and a tiny little rabbit. The ranger even opened up the Nature Center for us (usually opened only on weekends!).
Troopers: John, me, Zack, Ivy, Viviana, Tom, Annette, Eleanor, Jesus, and Bianca

Wow! The pictures are beautiful! I wish I could have gone. Seeing the reactions from the kids discovering all the animals would have fun. I'll have to go next time!
